Appearances aren’t everything

To put on a smile every day can be easy, while inside I want to cry.  I’m fighting back the tears right now.  Why?  For some reason it feels that I’ve been dealt a bad hand; the short end of the stick; or how ever you want to say it.

1. We are so far behind on bills it is not funny.

2. Somehow we can’t seem to f-ing catch up.

3. It isn’t happening this month.  The hubby’s paycheck is $600.00 too short for the bills that need to be paid, oh yeah, they are already late.

4. We got water damage from a tropical storm a few weeks ago.  Damage in the house.  Our laminate wood flooring is messed up (and the hubby only installed it a year ago).  Mold is growing behind the walls and under the floor.  Our older son has respiratory issues and has been sick since Labor day and got a nose bleed today.  That nose bleed is allergic rhinitis.  Yeah, that is directly thanks to the damn mold!  The damn insurance adjuster hasn’t submitted his paperwork yet and it has been over a week now.  I don’t want to be in this house with two young kids and mold!!!  Their health is too important to me.

5. I don’t want to have to be on meds for depression and I’m tired of dishing out money for a counselor.  I want to go, but it costs too much when we can’t afford it.

So, I will continue to put on that smile everyday and pretend everything is ok.

    Dear Calling Him Out:

I found this blog from your husband’s Diary. I read occasionally to catch up. Hope I’m not intruding.

Some of what you’re going through above is familiar, especially the money thing. At the moment it’s quite scary for us.

OTOH we have just got rid of the mold! One entire side of our house has been covered in black mold as long as I can remember. My wife has allergic rhinitis! Over the last few years we’ve managed to scrape money together to have builders in fixing drains and walls and at last it’s all gone never to return!

Don’t know what I can say about no. 5. If it’s important then it’s important.

Things will get better! Maybe your smile can be on loan from your future self, who will no doubt have plenty and to spare.

    All best wishes

    PL

Girrrrl, just know that you are SO not alone in this. I think the whole country is going to hell in a hand basket…financially speaking, that is. :(
